Here’s my story. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
My story began when I was born with a congenital chest defect called Pectus Excavatum. My heart and lungs were compressed, which left me with chronic fatigue and very poor exercise tolerance.
Despite these challenges, I was determined to do whatever it took to work with what I had to become successful.
I began training in martial arts at the age of 8. At age 16, I was a lanky teenager who started training with Sean Lee, owner of Restoration Fitness.
Soon thereafter, my passion for exercise began. I started researching and learning training methods of many top coaches and strength athletes. After a solid year of intense training, I quickly achieved my goal of becoming an active competitor in strongman competitions.
At the age of 25 I faced yet another challenge. I came down with a severe chronic illness, which left me lifeless.
I couldn’t exercise, work, or attend school.
I dropped down from a muscular 230 pounds to 150 in less than a year. I was devastated. I questioned whether I would ever come back from this.
But I was committed to do whatever it took to conquer the illness and get back to form.
I spent hours upon hours researching medical literature, as it seemed that doctors were giving me all sorts of explanations.
Finally, with an open-minded doctor, we stumbled upon the solution.
With a renewed sense of well being it was time for me to undergo surgical correction for my Pectus Excavatum.
In February of 2015, I underwent a procedure at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and had 3 metal bars implanted underneath my sternum, correcting the defect.
